Meet Milo
Goosey’s big brother Milo, also a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, now 13 years old, retired from therapy work shortly after the pandemic as his Mitral Valve Disease progressed. He enjoys mentoring Goosey.

Milo, The OG Therapy Dog
Goosey’s path to pet therapy would likely not have been as easily paved without the leadership of his big brother, Milo. Retiring shortly after the pandemic Milo also served the Baton Rouge area, visiting nursing homes, the LSU campus as well as volunteering with the American Red Cross following Hurricane Laura.

“Milo’s gentle nature has brought comfort and joy to everyone he met and we wish him a happy retirement”. – Monique, Carrington Place
Snapshots from Milo’s Therapy Journey
Milo’s unique role in therapy work was attributed to his kind demeanor and luxurious ears enriching every session with care and compassion.

More Than a Therapy Dog…
Once retired and as a final ode to service, Milo handsomely strutted the runway at the 2023 Mutts to Models Gala helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single evening in partnership with Mardi Paws & Scott’s Wish; an extraordinary nonprofit caring for both critically ill people and pets in Louisiana.
Milo’s Special Friendships
Milo’s ability to encourage speech while working with dementia patients was truly inspiring and his proudest work. Photos of Milo were placed on bedside tables as gentle reminders of his presence.

Therapy Visits Post Pandemic
When masks were essential, Milo and his handler/mom did their part in spreading happiness during such a trying time for nursing home residents with their matching emojis.
