I Stocked the Libraries

Dear Diary,

Today we visited the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport where Bayou Buddies Pet Therapy sponsors three Little Free Libraries with preowned books. The little book carts provide travelers the opportunity to grab a book to read while traveling.

For my birthday this year, mom asked her Facebook friends to consider donating books or purchasing from an Amazon list of books in honor of my birthday. Her goal was 30 books- 10 books for each year I’ve been alive. Don’t worry, she still gave me gifts and even threw me a hotdog party that ended up in inRegister magazine but I digress.

Mom’s friends really showed up for me with a whopping 78 books for the libraries in addition to a set of books that go into my personal library for my visits with children, since, well, she doesn’t have any children’s books.

Mom collected so many books that we had to load Bea’s Barkus wagon. There’s a video of me rolling into the airport on Instagram.

Our Director, Mrs. Maribeth invited other therapy dogs to our impromtu airport delivery visit so that we could also comfort passengers in addition to delivering my birthday books. I think they call that killing two birds with one stone. I was very excited because my best pal Millie was coming. She looks like me.

Afterwards, my buddy Gus’ mom (Gus is the basset hound) suggested we all go to Frankie’s DawgHouse and have a hotdog in celebration of my birthday. How fun is that?!

Today was a really good day.
